Hello, and welcome to the podcast for the week of July 11th. I'm your host and guide Sheila Belanger. We have a powerful full moon, lighting us up this week and several opportunities to go into a deeper level of yourself. Here's a line from the poem for this week's podcast: “inviting you deeper into roots of yourself.”
On Tuesday, July 12th, Mercury square Chiron at 17 degrees of Cancer and Aries. And remember that the degree measurements of where the planets are in their relationship to each other can work for you if you know how to read your chart or understand what that means. If not, you don't have to worry about it. You can just listen to the story of the archetypes. Mercury, the Storyteller, the Bridge-Maker, the Communicator journeying in the sign of Cancer now, which is deeply, emotionally sensitive and connecting. It wants to belong, wants to be with family, whether it's blood family or chosen family. The square means there's some tension.
(02:00):
Mercury is 90 degrees away from our perspective in the sky with Chiron, a comet-asteroid. That is the Shapeshifter, the Shamanic One, the Wounded Healer. It's in Aries, the sign of fiery independence and the need to be true to oneself and to go. The tension with the square is with the two parts. Two parts of ourselves in the world are wanting to figure something out, to adjust and make a change. So Mercury in Cancer is that part of us that wants to speak our heart, wants to be vulnerable, but is also shy and fearful. It doesn't want to get hurt. The tension is with Chiron. The Wounded Healer in us says I've got a deep pain that I am trying to metabolize that I am trying to heal. And when Chiron is in Aries, the possible wound or challenge is that of dare I be myself. Can I really be authentic?
(02:52):
Can I really be with the power of my own fire? And because it is the Wounded Healer archetype, it means we've learned a lot from our own journey of pain and sometimes unconsciously we've caused pain for others, the unconscious pain that happens with Chiron in Aries is that we unconsciously run over people. We are brash. We are even violent in, I gotta do it my way. And so the tension you get to work with and grow from in this week with Mercury square Chiron is how can I be true to myself and take those courageous actions and go for it and not lose connection to my sensitive heart and what I'm really feeling and what I wanna express? It's like working with vulnerability and courageous action together. So notice how that shows up for you. Notice how it shows up in our world, lean into it.
(03:45):
On Wednesday, July 13th, we have a powerful Full Moon at 21 degrees of Cancer-Capricorn at 11:38 AM Pacific daylight time. Here's the balance of the archetypal, yin and yang, the sun and moon. So the sun is in the sign of Cancer. The sun is the solar energy of Hero, Heroine, the Conscious Self lighting up shining the light on your life purpose right now in the month of Cancer. The sun traveling through Cancer, the call to the heart, to emotional vulnerability and sensitivity and finding your place of belonging at the full moon. The full moon is opposite that sun sitting in the sign of Capricorn, from our perspective on the earth. Now the moon is the Instinctive Nurturer. The deep yin one, non-cognitive flow, a changeable emotional one of us. Capricorn is a grounded, pragmatic earth sign. And when we have the full moon in Capricorn, there is this incredible opportunity to balance our sense of vulnerability and emotional sensitivity with grounded practical accomplishments.
(04:56):
And it's really asking us to bring together those two parts of our lives to be our own agent, to be our own leader and not to lose connection to our heart and our sensitivity doubly powerful as a full moon because the moon is next to Pluto, the Transformer archetype and the sun is next to Mercury, the Storyteller archetype. So what does that mean? Pluto, named after the deity of the underworld, the God-goddess deity of hell and transformation.
Pluto is the Transformer archetype, the deep systemic change maker. And it really, whenever Pluto is involved, this archetype really is relentless in asking us to be honest and just strip away the BS, as you've all heard me say, and many astrologists tell you about Pluto's relentless journey through Capricorn and it's started in 2008, will stay in Capricorn for a while. Although next year it begins to touch into another sign.
(05:59):
And Capricorn is this sign of grounded, pragmatic, strong, effective leadership energy. Like how do I make things happen? How do I really be impeccable? And Pluto in Capricorn is relentlessly asking all of us individuals, societies, governmental structures, worldviews to say, you have to let die what's not working. You have to lance the poisons out of the wound. You have to systemically transform that which is in the shadows. And when this full moon has the moon next to Pluto, it can be a highly volatile, emotional, full moon. You might be noticing emotional insights, patterns, old, old wounds, old resentments coming up to be metabolized and healed How you'll do it can be with that full moon. The moon is opposite the sun, which is next to Mercury the communicator, the Storyteller it's like speak honestly to yourself first and foremost about how you really feel what's really going on and go underneath the feelings.
(07:08):
What's really at the root of it? Get to the roots of who you are? Watch for where there's old patterns of protection of duplicity or denying, or getting caught with stories or getting under a spell of victim hood. And it's like, go deeper, go deeper, go deeper. What's underneath turning into the deeper roots of yourself and with compassion and care, whenever Cancer's at play the sign of Cancer, it's ultimately a sign of deep nurturing. So can you really notice, witness and love all the parts of you, especially? So cuz this full moon with this full moon, the moon in Capricorn has a lovely alignment with Uranus. It's called a trine. Uranus is the Maverick, the Awakener, the Liberator.
It's in the sign of Taurus now, which is about deep grounded, security and stability. So the moon having this connection with the Maverick says there can be some great emotional breakthroughs right now, really strong.
(08:14):
And also this full moon has a square to Chiron as we talked, as I talked about earlier. So there's looking at the wounded patterns, not just in yourself, but also ancestral. Whenever Chiron is involved, this archetype is speaking, not just to healing wounds in ourselves, but also healing, family wounds, ancestral wounds, societal wounds, which are so up now asking to be healed.
So bottom line, big, full moon asking you to do deep emotional transformation, to liberate yourself from old stories and old patterns to go deeper. And as you do that, to hold the consciousness and the ability to speak kindly to yourself and others from a place of depth and honesty, not from a place of superficiality. So notice this very strong.
And then on Saturday, July 16th, the Sun is exactly with Mercury at 24 degrees of Cancer. So here we have the light shining into our mind, the light of the sun with mercury, the mind, the communicator, the storyteller in cancer.
(09:26):
So it's really, what is it I need to express emotionally. Now what's really on my heart. And how do I do that in a caring, nurturing way for myself and others. And this is important because it's the halfway mark with a cycle of Mercury. Mercury cycles last three to four months long. And they mark times of new projects and new new ideas and going forward with them.
This current Mercury cycle started on May 21st of this year. And now we're at the halfway mark. So if you look back to kind of mid to late may, if you started new projects, new ideas, you might take stock of, okay, what have I learned? How have I grown? And this really marks this sun mercury coming together. It's like, go forward with it, bring it to life, bring it, bring it out, bring it forward. So dear ones, those are some of the energies that we are traveling with this week.
(10:22):
And I wanna offer this amazing poem from Mark Coleman called “The Turn”, which really, to me honors this full moon with the moon and Pluto especially is challenging you in a loving way to go underneath your old patterns, to go deeper and to open up that powerful, full moon with the sun in cancer to deeply nurture yourself and all the parts of you and in so doing, you have capacity to help the world do the same through all the trials and suffering and intense pain that is happening in our world right now,ed, crevice, every twisted branch, even the forgotten needles fall into the ground.
(12:35):
So you may find everyones with this full moon that you're ready to stop pretending and putting on a face other than your own. And may you have the strength to turn towards your loneliness or the empty places within that you've been running from and find that way to embrace and love with delicate hands of love, all those parts. So you claim the roots of yourself and you claim yourself, and this is powerful work for the world. So may you feel the blessings of this full moon and all the other astrological energy supporting you this week? Thanks as always for your support of this podcast. Take good care.
